Bob Biggers

Bob Biggers - 2022 Image
Bob Biggers was born in Orlando, Florida.  While in Orlando Mr. Biggers attended Jones High School, he also attended Bethune Cookman College. The son of an Army Veteran Mr. Biggers himself was drafted in the United States Army and severed one tour in Vietnam.  After serving in Vietnam, Bob decided to continue his service of the country by making the Army a career.  Bob was introduced to the game of golf by his father at a young age. He became interested in the game from that point forward.  Having served 25 years Bob, retired from the Army with honors and distinction.

Mr. Biggers so loved the game of golf that upon retiring from the Army he became a coach with Dr. Dorsey and the Orlando Minority Golf Association.  It was at this point in his life that Bob took an interest in introducing the game of golf to minority children in the Orlando area by forming Tee-Lo golf in the Tangelo Park Community. Bob provided free lessons to the youth in the Tee-Lo program.  Being the chief instructor Bob was able to develop and hone the skills of many of the young golfers that he instructed.  In addition, Bob was a positive role model to the youth by teaching them life skills such as manners, proper behavior, public speaking and confidence in their social development.  Because of his knowledge and ability to teach the game of golf, many of the youth have excelled in the game and have gone on to play golf for a number of colleges and universities in the country.

Mr. Biggers is a charter member of Pro Duffers Orlando (PDO) where he has not only provided instruction to the members but has been a member that when called upon to assist the organization in the Foundation tournaments has provided leadership and contacts to make the Foundation tournaments successful events.
